Incorrect Gear Ratio
The transmission is not achieving the expected gear ratio.
The TCM compares the input and output speed sensors to calculate the actual gear ratio. When the measured ratio does not match the commanded gear, this code is set. It can indicate slipping clutches, a worn band, or hydraulic issues.
Symptoms
Common Causes
Low or dirty transmission fluid
HIGHInsufficient fluid causes clutch slippage.
Worn clutch packs
MEDIUMInternal clutches are worn and slipping under load.
Faulty shift solenoid
MEDIUMSolenoid not properly directing hydraulic pressure.
Valve body issue
LOWStuck or worn valve body passages.
Step-by-Step Diagnosis
